Rattle & Hum Music Society inducted Wenyitso Kapfo as its new president during a formal handover ceremony held at Hotel Vivor, Kohima, on June 12.
In his presidential address, Kapfo acknowledged the successful tenure of outgoing president Neingulie Nakhro, commending his dedication and efforts in meticulously documenting the activities of the society. He also reflected on the society’s beginnings, describing it as a “crazy dream” envisioned under the visionary leadership of Theja Meru.
Other members of the society include joint secretary M. Ababe Ezung, secretary (Headquarters) Michelle Nakhro, secretary (Administration) Dr. Tolto Metha, secretary (Operations) Dr. Pelhoubeizo Kiso, secretary (Culture) Dr. Theyiesinuo Keditsu, and secretary (Logistics) Thejakielie Zuyie. Advisor to Chief Minister & Chairman, Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland Abu Metha will serve as advisor to the society. The ceremony was chaired by vice president Ruguokhrietuo Kesiezie and featured opening remarks by Theja Meru, a president’s report presented by outgoing president Neingulie Nakhro, and a vote of thanks delivered by Secretary (Public Relations) Vishü Rita Krocha.
Founded with the mission of educating artists across music, art, dance, theatre and literature on their role in shaping culture and counter-culture, Rattle & Hum Music Society has earned recognition for its contributions to the arts. The society received the Governor’s Gold Medal in 2020 and has collaborated with institutions such as Raj Bhavan, ICCR and several Indian embassies worldwide to showcase India’s cultural diversity.
