WGC hosts seminar on ‘Career Counselling’

Two-day state level seminar on Career Counselling organised by seminar committee and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Wangkhao Government College (WGC), Mon came to an end on February 12. 

The seminar was sponsored by Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development (RGNIYD), Sriperumbudur, Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

A press release by asst professor Economic WGC, H. David Konyak stated that the resource person of the seminar was farmer and author, Phejin Konyak, who spoke on the “Sustainable Rural Communities Agricultural Diversification – Present Condition, Scope & Benefits” and how students and youths in future can take up farming in a profitable way while sustaining the rural communities. 

In the technical session, District Soil Conservation Officer, Mon and research scholar from the School of Agricultural Sciences & Rural Development (SASRD), Medzhiphema Campus, Nagaland University, ChumeiYanlem as resource person highlighted to the participants on the importance of “Entrepreneurship & Skill Development: A Career beyond the Govt. Sector”. 

The resource person stressed on the importance of skill development and cultivating an interest in entrepreneurship for their employability in future, moving away from the mentality of just depending on government sector. 

Asst. professor in History, Dr. Esther P. Konyak moderated the session.

Earlier, director, RGNIYD, Sriperumbudur, Prof. Sibnath Deb delivered the inaugural address and welcome address was delivered by WGC principal, Dr. I WatiImchen.
