A herd of wild elephants entered the settlement area of Tsungiki Village, Second Bazaar, on January 25, causing concern among residents. The elephants were spotted in the kitchen garden of E. Nyimtsemo Kikon, where they were seen devouring banana stems around 7 pm.
Kikon informed that the elephants appeared calm, however the villagers in close proximity to the wild animals were living in fear.
In a video captured during the encounter, Kikon can be heard calmly instructing the elephant to eat the bananas and leave peacefully without causing harm.
He was seen directing the one the wild elephant toward a remaining banana tree in his garden from just 30 feet away and used torch to guide as they ate the bananas.
