Wildlife awareness at VKV Doyang

As part of world wildlife week, Wokha Forest Division in collaboration with ENVIS, Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) under the theme, “save life in wild” on October 2 at Vivekananda Kendra Vidyalaya, Doyang.

A press release by NPCB stated that in a keynote address, DFO Wokha, Suman W M Sivachar highlighted the students on the importance of preserving wildlife habitat.

He said human urbanisation and activities was one of the key reasons in affecting the habitat of wildlife.

Short speeches were delivered by programme officer, ENVIS Nagaland, Limitsa S Sangtam and principal VKV Doyang, Tanmay Sarkar. 

Limitsa highlighted the activities and functions of ENVIS and NPCB and encouraged the gathering to protect, conserve and preserve wildlife. 

In a presentation on wildlife of Nagaland, range forest officer Baghty, Lansothung Lotha encouraged using natural resources in a sustainably manner. A short documentary on conservation of wildlife was also screened during the programme. The programme was chaired by livelihood expert, Abeno and vote of thanks was delivered by office assistant Wokha forest division, Lesemew.
