Kohima Forest Division has announced the winners of the Wildlife Photography Competition held in commemoration of Wildlife Week 2025 under the theme “Human Animal Coexistence”.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from across the state, reflecting the growing interest in wildlife conservation and the harmonious relationship between humans and animals. Pelevizo Meyase clinched the first prize for his evocative entry titled “The Fisherman with its butterflies”, while Visosieto Viiprii secured the second prize for “Living with the birds”. Viiprii also received the Jury’s Special Mention for his poignant photograph titled “The Oldest Hunter alive in Khonoma Village sitting peacefully with his companion”.
The third prize and best raw photography categories were cancelled due to non-fulfilment of specified criteria. The jury’s decision remains final.
The winners are requested to collect their cash prizes and certificates from the Office of the Divisional Forest Officer, Kohima Forest Division, Forest Office Complex (below MHBHSS), on October 9, 2025 at 12 noon.
