Wka police destroy seized liquor

Acting on information based on reliable sources, Special Operation Team (SOT) of Wokha police seized illegal liquor totaling 61 ½ cases from two vehicles between Yikhum village and Wokha town on Thursday.
The seized illegal liquor included 7 ½ cases of MC Rum from vehicle bearing Registration No. AS-06A-3837 (Maruti Car), and 10 cases of MC Whiskey (quarter bottles) and 44 cases of MC Rum from vehicle bearing Registration No. AS-014-3284 (Hard topped Maruti Gypsy). Wokha police informed that 3 persons namely Nyimshio, Echungo and Benjamin have been detained in connection with the case and FIRs lodged against them under appropriate sections of NLTP Act. Later, the seized illegal liquor were destroyed at the outskirts of Wokha town under the supervision of SDPO Wokha and EAC Wokha.
