Western Naga Youth Front (WNYF) has extended its appreciation, deepest respect and solidarity to the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) for what it termed a “bold and principled stand” in severing ties with the NSCN (K)–Khango faction over the unresolved death threat case involving one ‘Max Naga’.
In a statement, WNYF praised AYO’s courageous decision, backed by the resignation of 18 Angami national workers from NSCN (K)–Khango group. WNYF said that it not only reflected the collective will of the Angami people but also the kind of integrity and moral leadership the society desperately needed today. WNYF said that in an environment where intimidation, extortion, and unaccountable governance have too often gone unchecked, AYO’s action stands as a beacon of justice and accountability.
WNYF noted that such a resolve in the face of pressure and threats was an inspiration to all, adding that it was a turning point, a declaration that the people would no longer tolerate impunity. “We believe this is more than just a local stance; it is a call to conscience for the entire Naga society,” it said. The front further urged all tribal bodies, organizations and individuals to voice out, warning that silence breeds impunity. “It is time we demand accountability from everyone and in every sphere. Without it, we cannot hope to emerge from the chaos that engulfs our land,” it added.
Reaffirming its stance against antisocial elements and unlawful activities, WNYF also pledged unflinching solidarity and support in any manner AYO may require in the future to uphold justice and dignity in the land.
