On the third day of the ongoing bandh, the Wokha civil society organisations (CSOs) intensified the bandh by locking down Deputy Commissioner (DC) office and SDO (NH) office Wokha.

CSOs said they have decided to continue with the bandh until a written assurance, agreeing to address their demands, was received from the concern authorities.

Strict restrictions were imposed on vehicular movement while commercial establishments also remained closed. Volunteers were stationed at different locations to impose restriction on vehicular movement. Residents of Wokha gathered at the Wokha police point to express solidarity with the CSOs. The public urged the government and authorities to promptly address their grievances.

JAC seeks clarification on compensation
Joint Action Committee (JAC) on NH-2 two-lane construction Wokha village has sought clarification on the status of remaining balance of compensation money with regard to two-lane construction of NH-2 (Old NH-61) from km72.40 to KM83 within Wokha district.
