The meeting was attended by advisor for Agriculture, Mhathung Yanthan, Mhonbemo Humtsoe MLA, heads of departments and committee representatives.
A major highlight of the meeting was the extensive deliberation on the upcoming Banana Festival, slated for October 22 and 23, 2025. As the first-ever Banana Festival in the district, the event aims to promote agricultural innovation, highlight local produce, and enhance market connectivity. Departments and committees presented progress updates and outlined preparations including logistics, ground arrangements, identification of banana-based by-products for exhibition, stakeholder engagement, technical workshops, and media outreach. The house also approved the official theme of the festival.
The meeting began with a review of the previous month’s minutes and took up the registration of Myanta Okho Society, a Wokha-based non-profit organization. The board approved the proposal and recommended it for final registration by the competent authority.
Advisor Yanthan also introduced an agenda on the Government e-Marketplace (GeM), stressing the importance of training and public awareness for effective utilization of the online procurement platform. He noted that GeM supports MSMEs, startups, and women entrepreneurs, and aligns with national initiatives such as Digital India and Make in India.
The board further discussed the formation of a Committee for Inter-Departmental Sports to promote camaraderie and wellness among government employees in the district.
Medical Superintendent Dr. N. Mhonchan Kithan informed the house that Dr. Motsuo Memorial District Hospital had secured 2nd Prize in the Kayakalp Awards, conferred by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India, for excellence in cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control under the Swachh Bharat Mission.
