As part of the nationwide Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2025 campaign, the Public Health Engineering Department (PHED), Wokha Division, carried out a series of cleanliness and awareness initiatives across the district. The activities will commenced on September 1 will culminate on October 2.
According to a press release issued by the Executive Engineer, PHED Wokha Division, the activities aimed to promote sanitation, environmental health, and community ownership in building a cleaner Wokha.
On September 19, a cleanliness drive was conducted at identified Cleanliness Target Units (CTUs), including the Executive Engineer’s Office, PHED premises, and other designated district offices.
Further, on September 25, mass cleanliness drives under the SHS-Ek Din, Ek Ghanta, Ek Saat initiative were held across several villages.
Village Councils, WATSAN Committees, youth groups, women self-help groups, and community members actively participated, reinforcing collective responsibility for a healthier environment.
Continuing the campaign, PHED Wokha Division organised “Swachhata Advocacy through Swachhotsav: Waste to Art Competition” on September 26 at Government High School, Changsu Old. Students creatively transformed waste materials into art pieces, promoting messages of recycling, sustainability, and responsible waste management.
