The monthly District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting of Wokha and Tseminyu was held on Friday at their respective Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall.
According to a DIPR report, the DPDB meeting in Wokha was presided over by Deputy Commissioner & vice chairman of DPDB Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan.

Reviewing the minutes of the previous meeting, the DC reminded departments that had not yet submitted action plans and detailed reports for the four aspirational villages in Wokha district to promptly do so.
With the upcoming 50th Golden Jubilee celebration scheduled for December 2023, the committee members were informed about the constitution of committees for the event. The DC also conveyed that departments would be assigned specific tasks and appealed for cooperation to ensure the success of the jubilee. Discussing the status of the Comprehensive Health Management Information System (CHMIS) in Wokha district, the DC stressed the need to enhance its coverage to reach 100%. All departments were urged to intensify efforts to achieve this target.
Chief Medical Officer, Wokha, Dr. Zuben Kikon, highlighted the ‘Dengue’ situation in the district. Wokha reported 10 positive cases, with 9 from Merapani area and 1 from Wokha town, out of 52 tested cases. The DC urged the medical department to increase testing rates and maintain ample stocks of medicines and essentials for preventive measures.
DC further underscored the importance of regular attendance at DPDB meetings and warned that absentees without prior leave would be taken seriously. Earlier, the session commenced with introductions of new DPDB members, including project director DRDA, Narola Imsong, assistant mechanical engineer, Er. Renpithung Z Murry, and sub-divisional officer (Housing), Er. Kikrosal Mekhro.
Tseminyu: Tseminyu DPDB meeting was held under the chairmanship of MLA of 12A/C Tseminyu, Ar. Jwenga Seb.
The MLA urged members to maintain their regular attendance, emphasizing their satisfactory record to date. The meeting commenced with a review of the minutes from the previous session. Given its status as a new district, substantial work lies ahead. The following key points were discussed and decisions made – Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Yotta Agro Venture Private Limited. The MoU with Yotta Agro Venture Private Limited, aimed at enhancing livelihoods, was approved by the house.
Land acquisition for various offices: The need for land to establish several offices in Tseminyu district was addressed, including: District Hospital, Government College, Land Resources Development Office, Power Substation and Emergency Fire Service Office for managing the natural calamities, Rural Self-Employment Training Institute, Park, RD Block Chunlikha, Staff Quarters for Police Personnel, and District Sericulture office.
A proposal for the establishment of the District Sericulture Office was discussed, with plans to submit it to the government for approval. Earlier, DC and vice-chairman of DPDB Tseminyu, Dr. Tinojongshi Chang, welcomed all the members and expressed gratitude to all officers for the successful celebration of Independence Day in the district.
