WOKHA, OCT 2 (NPN): The Wokha Table Tennis Association (WTTA) conducted a one-day open trial at the Town Hall, Wokha, on October 2 to select players for the upcoming 29th Inter-District and State Table Tennis Championship 2026 and the Nagaland State & Para Games (NSPG) 2026.
The trial was held in the men’s open category and witnessed enthusiastic participation from local table tennis players. Based on their performances, four players were selected to represent Wokha district in the state-level competitions.
David Hinglak emerged as the champion of the open trial, while Menvolie secured second place. Chumbenthung Khuvung finished third, followed by Medovito in fourth position. The selected players will now represent the district at the forthcoming championships, where they will compete against top players from across Nagaland.
Officials of the association stated that the trial served not only as a selection process but also as an opportunity for budding players to gain competitive exposure and improve their skills. The event also aimed to encourage greater participation in table tennis and promote the sport among the youth of the district.
Meanwhile, the Wokha Table Tennis Association is gearing up to celebrate its Silver Jubilee in December this year. To mark the occasion, the association will organise the Wokha Open Table Tennis Championship 2026 from December 16 to 18 at Wokha.
The championship is being planned as a special commemorative event celebrating 25 years of the association’s contribution to the promotion and development of table tennis in Wokha district and Nagaland. Preparations for the Silver Jubilee celebrations and the tournament are currently underway.
