Woman labourer injured in bear attack

A woman labourer identified as Ringjauliu suffered bites and scratches after a bear attacked her while she was on duty at 22 km KPP Road Khonoma at around 8.30 a.m. on September 25, stated a press release of Khonoma Village Council (KVC). Immediately after the incident, Ringjauliu was shifted to nearby Naga Hospital Kohima for treatment.
KVC chairman Khrielevo Savino and secretary Peto Punyü asked the trekkers’, picnickers or campers to inform the village authority before entry into the said zone.
It also informed that the villager will not be responsible for any incident to be taken places as consequences of entry into the village without proper information or consultation and without local guides.
