An enrolment drive under Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) and an awareness programme on women-centric schemes was held at Students’ Library Hall, Kezoma village on Monday.
According to DIPR report, the event organised by Kohima District Administration in collaboration with SANKALP-District Hub for Empowerment of Women (DHEW), was part of Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative.
Speaking at the event, Centre Administrator and OSD, Vimenu Richa spoke on services provided by Sakhi-One Stop Centre, which offers support to women affected by violence.
She said the centre provides emergency medical aid, police facilitation, legal support, counselling and temporary shelter.
She urged women to access these 24×7 services and stressed the need for timely intervention and community support.
Services provided during the programme included Aadhaar enrolment for girls aged 0–5 years, facilitated by district administration and Social Welfare Department, and opening of IPPB accounts by Department of Post.
