Women church leaders’ supports anti tobacco campaign

An advocacy workshop women church leaders was conducted by District Tobacco Control Cell Dimapur on August 16 in West City Building, Dimapur. Around thirty women leaders from 26 churches had attended the workshop, where resource persons were asst professor Nursing College Purnungla and psychologist NTCP Dimapur Imkumla.
They challenged that the church could no longer remain a bystander when thousands of young people were getting into tobacco habit.
Various factors attributing to tobacco menace were discussed. According to Dr C Tetseo the women church leaders also took a resolution to actively participate in anti tobacco campaign in their respective churches.
