
Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Zunheboto, Nagaland University conducted a programme at Tichipami village, Suruhoto block on September 28.
A press release by KVK, NU, stated that, Dr. Rakesh Kumar Chaurasia, sr. scientist and head spoke on the importance and activities carried out by KVK for the farming communities. Edenly Chishi ACTO, Horticulture spoke on the importance of nutri-thali, nutri gardening and bio-fortified varieties which can be very easily adopted by the farming communities especially women folk. Farmers’ scientist interaction was also conducted to find problems faced by farming communities and measures to resolve the issues.
Earlier, welcome address was given by Holuto Ayemi and invocation by youth leader Vinoto Achumi. Vegetable seeds received from IFFCO and purchased by KVK were provided to 32 women farmers of several SHGs, Anganwadi workers and women farmers.
