‘Women for Trees’ phase-II launched in Phek

DIMAPUR

To mark World Environment Day, the Phase-II launch of the “Women for Trees” campaign took place at New Colony, Phek town under the UMRUT Mitra initiative on June 5.
According to DIPR report, eight Self Help Group (SHG) members, along with staff from the Urban Development Department, Phek, planted 50 saplings, showcasing strong community involvement and commitment to the environment.
The program was led by Er. Kesoweu, Assistant Urban Development Officer, Phek, who explained that the initiative is supported by the Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs and DAY-NULM, aiming to promote sustainable urban living and increase greenery in cities.
