Three-day seminar on “Women in Peace building” was conducted by Nagaland Catholic Women Association in collaboration with Peace Channel in Don Bosco Institute of Development & Leadership (DBIDL) Dimapur from May 26-28.
The resource persons for the seminar were founder & director, Peace Channel, Fr.Dr. C. P. Anto, chief editor & CEO Morung Express Dr. Akum Longchar, Head of English Dept. NU-cum-advisor Naga Women Association Dr. Rosemary Dzuvichu, advocate, director, Care-Centre for Environment and Rural Poor Dimapur, Liangsi Niumai and freelance organic Farmer, consultant and an agripreneur Samir Bordoloi.
The seminar consisted of lectures, group discussions, peace celebration, audio visual learning sessions and different exercises to learn the importance of truth, mercy, justice and peace and to convey the message of the present society.
Participants were trained to be a good peace builder by empowering oneself, raise voice for voiceless, be a good book and be a source of inspiration for others, to work on organic farming and improve the economy of our society by utilising the available natural resources and bring sustainable peace in the society.
More than 80 women leaders from different tribes, region and parishes of Nagaland attended the seminar. The seminar was organised in order to educate and empower the women about their rights and train them on the skills and techniques of peace to work for peace building in the society.
