The safety of women is one of the most important indicators of a progressive and civilised society. In Nagaland women play a crucial role in shaping families, communities, and the future of the state. Despite the respect traditionally accorded to women in Naga society, Ensuring their safety remains a collective responsibility.
The recent concerns regarding the domestic violence,cyber Harrassment, work place discrimination and other forms of abuse highlight the need for greater awareness and stronger action . Many cases often go unreported and injustice due to fear, social stigma or a lack of knowledge about the legal right. Such challenges must be addressed to create a safer environment for all women in the state.
Government agencies, law enforcement authorities, educational institutions, churches and others community organization must work together to promote women safety and Awareness campaigns on gender equality, legal rights, etc. should be conducted regularly or in a schedule intervals. Strict action against the offenders can help deter crimes and build public confidence in the justice system.
Families also have an important role to play, teaching children the value of respect, equality and responsibility from a young ages can help prevent violence and discrimination in the future. At the same time, women should be encouraged to stand firm in protecting their rights, speaking up against injustice and seeking support whenever needed.
A society where women can live, study, work and travel without any fear is a society that thrives and prospers.
The safety of women is not solely a womens issue – it is a social issue that concerns everyone.
Let us all work together to make Our State Nagaland a place where every women feels safe, respected, valued and empowered.
