DIMAPUR, SEP 8 (NPN): A women’s volleyball tournament was successfully organized by the 78 Battalion of the CRPF in collaboration with the Sports Authority of India under the banner of SPANDAN (Sports for Peace and Development across Nations) at B/78 BN NIDC, Dimapur. The event brought together ten teams in a spirited display of competition with five matches conducted throughout the day.
The opening match saw Court Queen Club edge past Livingstone Foundation with a 2-1 victory, while Titanias dominated Unity College “B” in straight sets to secure a 2-0 win. Blaze Club showcased strong teamwork to defeat Women’s Club 2-0, and Volaris Team overcame Unity College “A” with another 2-0 result. In the final match of the day, Unity Club registered a convincing 2-0 victory against Cornerstone College.
The tournament reflected the commitment of the 78 Battalion, CRPF, to fostering sportsmanship and positive engagement through sporting activities. By providing a platform for participation and healthy competition, SPANDAN continues to promote the values of peace and development through sports, strengthening bonds within the community and encouraging youth involvement in constructive pursuits.
