Won’t allow Holy days to be declared working days: NBCC

Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) has asserted that it would never allow Christian holy days to be declared working days. Reacting to a Nagaland University (NU) notification that declared Good Friday and Easter Sunday as working days before it was withdrawn, NBCC general secretary Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho in a statement pointed out that though the notification was revoked, the damage had been done.

He said it had opened a window of suspicion, and that the university had an explanation to make.
Appreciating the cancellation, Rev Dr Zelhou Keyho however stressed that it was pertinent that such notifications should be responded to let the university know that such things would never be allowed in a Christian majority society.
