Workshop for agri start-ups and entrepreneurs

A virtual workshop on “opportunities for agri start-ups and entrepreneurs in North east region” was organised by Central Institute of Horticulture (CIH) Nagaland along with North East Agriculture Technology Entrepreneurs Hub (NEATEHUB), AAU, Jorhat, Wednesday.

A press release by CIH Nagaland stated that the objective of the workshop was to assist budding entrepreneurs in idea stage and early stage agri start-ups in north east region. 

In a keynote address, additional secretary, ministry of agriculture & farmers welfare Dr. Abhilaksh Likhi appreciated the initiative taken by CIH and NEATEHUB to educate, groom and promote budding agripreneurs in north east states. He then encouraged the institutes to conduct more such programmes.

In his opening remarks, vice chancellor, AAU Dr. B C Deka highlighted the various activities carried out by Assam Agricultural University and encouraged the participants to utilize the technologies developed for new business ventures.

Earlier, additional commissioner (Hort.), DAC&FW & director in-charge CIH, Dr. N K Patle highlighted the various schemes of central government.

CEO, NEATEHUB Dr. K Karthikeyen delivered a presentation on opportunities for agri start-ups and entrepreneurs of north eastern region. He mentioned details of schemes that start-ups and entrepreneurs can avail with mentoring from NEATEHUB.

Experience sharing was done by Dr. Vedamani, Vedam Agro, Dr. Priyanshu Sarma, Innotech Agropostikan, Watila Longkumer, Naro Ki, Trilukya Deka, Induluv, Bai-o, Hill group and Shivanjan Dalmia, Agrozonex.

The programme was coordinated by CEO, NEATEHUB Dr. Karthikeyen and marketing specialist, CIH, Prabin Das. Altogether, 66 participants attended the programme.
