Workshop for Anganwadi workers

Child Friendly Dimapur AIDA conducted workshop for Anganwadi workers from different localities of Dimapur on May 22, at ANMA Integrated Development Association, AIDA conference hall.
A press release from AIDA informed that the workshop was conducted with an intent to deepen the content of “nurturing care” and discuss possible actions on current situations through collaboration towards promoting child rights with special focus on right of child through different Anganwadi workers intervention in the localities.
The resource person, medical officer, Civil Hospital Dimapur, Dr. Moamenla Singson, spoke on Early Childhood Care Development and its benefits such as socialization, develop brain capacity, develop value education, understanding creative play way method, develop self esteem and self-confidence, nurture basic good habits and develop fundamental literacy and numeracy.
She also stressed on role of Anganwadi workers in supporting Early Child Development Intervention, emphasizing on the need of child Physical, Intellectual, Language, Emotion and Socialization (PILES) and encouraged Anganwadi workers to be aware of different age group, milestone of child and domains of early childhood as many important changes takes place in the process of growth in a child.
She explained on the child development in four different stages, communication and speech domain, physical domain, social domain and emotional domain and the cognitive domain.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by executive director AIDA, Rev. Fr. Roy George, while Civil Society Mobilization Officer, CFD, Shemang S. Phom enlightened participants on interventions of Child Friendly Dimapur and the status of Child Friendly Dimapur.
The program concluded with an intensive reflection on challenges faced by Anganwadi workers in the field as well as brainstormed on possibilities to work in alliance with community leaders and likeminded organizations to ensure the rights of the children through their interventions in the society.
Altogether, 20 Anganwadi workers from different localities of Dimapur attended the workshop.
