Two-day workshop for Cluster Artisans under Ambedkar Hastshilp Vikas Yojna (AHVY) scheme was conducted from May 28 and 29 at Padum Pukhuri, Dimapur.
In a press release, director, NWVTI Handicraft & Handloom Producers Pvt. Ltd., Temjenlemla Jamir said that programme was sponsored by office of Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India and organised by NWVTI Handicraft & Handloom Producers Pvt. Ltd., Dimapur.
The workshop was inaugurated by Director, Khadi & Village Industries commission, Dimapur, Athuba Lusang whereby he urged the artisans to have planning, finance, and time management to run a successful business. Handicraft Promotion Officer, HSC, Kohima, Rajib Chandra Roy, also highlighted on various schemes under DC (Handicrafts) & GeM Portal for artisans.
At the workshop, resource persons highlighted on various topics like “Importance of GST for Handicraft artisans”, “Mudra Loan for artisans”, “Production of durable & marketable products”, “Treatment of raw materials & finished products”, “Production of utility products for export”, “Creation of Logo & Brand”, etc. The resource persons also gave live demonstration on various crafts.
