
The Secretariat Transport Special Pool, Nagaland Civil Secretariat conducted a one day Workshop for Drivers of Secretariat Transport Special Pool in two batches on September 26 and 27, respectively at the Secretariat Conference Hall, Kohima. Transport officer & deputy secretary, Samson Sekhose, in a press release reported that the drivers were exhorted by Kenilo Apon, secretary, Transport Department who stated that the driving profession was a noble one, rendering great service to the government and the public.
Dr. Hovithal N Sothu, deputy director (Training), ATI, Kohima spoke on “A Role Model Driver: Etiquette & Expectations”. He emphasized on maintaining integrity and devotion to duty as government servants. He also laid stress on alertness, dress code, personal habits, temperament on road and driving etiquettes.
Yaongsanglee Chang, R.T.O. Kohima, spoke on “Road Safety Awareness”. He covered the topics of vehicle documents, usage of seat belts, abstinence from intoxicants, road signs, traffic rules and correct usage of lights and indicators. He also handed out tracts on road safety awareness.
The program was chaired by A. Robin Lotha, additional secretary, Transport department.
