
As a part of the ongoing Cultural Exchange Programme under the banner of EK Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (initiative of MHRD, GoI), a workshop on “Culture and Traditional Heritage of Nagaland” was organized on April 30 at the Conference Hall, Nagaland University, Lumami.
At the workshop, Neizhanuo Golmei presented a paper on the “Land Ownership Systems of the Nagas” and highlighted the value of land and the different levels of ownership among the Nagas.
Dr. Maibam Radharani presented on “Representation of Culture in Art and Artifacts”.
Dr. Neizo Puro also presented an audio-visual display of the high points of tourism in Nagaland and Dr. Tovishe Phucho presented on “Traditional Foods of the Nagas. Peter Ki presented on the “Rite of Passage: A case Study of Maram Tribe”.
Dr. Bijayasundari, faculty in-charge of the 14-member team from Dr. Harisingh Gour University Sagar gave an “Overview of Madhya Pradesh”. The Workshop was chaired by Dr. Pitheli K. Jimo, while Dipika Paul was the rapporteur.
The workshop came to an end with a concluding remarks from the chairperson.
