Workshop on ‘essence of photojournalism’ at SJU

Media Club in collaboration with department of Journalism and Mass Communication, St. Joseph University, Chumoukedima conducted a workshop on “Essence of Photojournalism” at Seminar Hall, SJU on August 19.


The programme was as part of observation of World Photography Day. Imti Longchar, photojournalist and special reporter in Morung Express attended the workshop as resource person who shared his expertise, challenges and prospect of being a journalist in general and photojournalist specifically.


The programme was attended by the faculties of the department and students from Journalism and Mass Communication and other departments, which was concluded by questions and answers session.
Meanwhile, EDC and the Department of Management, St. Joseph University, Chumoukedima organised a day seminar on lean “Six Sigma” was organized by on August 16, at the auditorium.


A press release from St Joseph University, PRO Fr Anish stated that resource person for the seminar was Pelezoto Pius Kikhi (MBA, FHQH, CHH – Pepperdine Graziadio Business School US), currently working at Christian Institute of health sciences and Research, Chumoukedima as a quality manager and certified lean six sigma master black belt.


Pelezoto gave an introduction to the Lean of Six Sigma, where he urged the students to develop the skills of six sigma, which was required in the present context, and to stay competitive in the market.
He also spoke about the different levels of belts, tools, and techniques which in the present context is been used by every organization.


He stated that the six- sigma profession was in high demand, it offers career advancement, higher salaries and improved problem-solving skills and benefits to the organization in various ways.
