A two-day workshop on ethical hacking and cyber security was organised by School of Engineering and Technology, Nagaland University (NU-SET) on October 3-4 for students with Deepak K Nath from Robotech Labs Pvt. Ltd as the resource person. A press release by NU-SET stated that the opening ceremony was graced by dean of NU-SET, professor S. K. Sharma, who encouraged the students to learn hacking not only for knowledge but to improve their job prospects.
He emphasized on the differences between white hat and black hat hackers and that one must try to learn the skills to be labelled a white hat rather than a black hat. The faculty coordinator of the workshop, Shanchamo Yanthan, also talked about the importance of securing oneself in a digital world. 52 students including two participants from NIT Nagaland attended the workshop.
