Intellectual Property and Technology Management Unit (ITMU) of ICAR-NRC on Mithun, Medziphema organized a one-day workshop on “Intellectual Property Rights” on January 16. The workshop was organized as part of the capacity building activity with the objectives to educate and to create awareness about IPR issues among the scientific community.
A press release from director ICAR- National Research Centre on Mithun Medziphema, Dr. Abhijit Mitra stated that Patent Attorney, Amrita Mazumdar, S Majumdar & co., Kolkata were the resource persons. Mazumdar delivered a series of lectures elaborating on the basics of Intellectual Property Rights and made a detailed deliberation on different aspects of IPR namely copyright, design and patent. There was an interactive session to discuss the procedure of patent filing and submission of the application to the National Biodiversity Authority (NBA).
The workshop was attended by a total number of 44 persons including the staff and scientists of ICAR-NRC on Mithun and Nagaland Centre of ICAR Research Complex of NEHR, Medziphema, faculties of College of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry, CAU, Jalukie and SASRD, Nagaland University, Medziphema. The event was corrdinated by i/c ITMU, ICAR-NRC on Mithun Medziphema, Dr. Jayanta Kumar Chamuah.
