Workshop on peace building and SDGs

A workshop on peace building and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) organised by National Foundation for India (NFI), hosted by Can Youth and co-sponsored by European Union on was held December 14 at Hazadisa village.

During the programme, field coordinator Katini spoke on SDG 5: achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

She said that that gender equality was a necessary foundation for a peaceful, prosperous and sustainable world and discussed the importance of youth participation and collaboration in peace building to achieve SDGs.

Katini also stressed on the importance of communication towards the opposite gender as communication was one of the important factors and encouraged the participants to be a self-reliable and self-dependent for better living.

Development for adolescent, project coordinator Sentiwati spoke on SDG 8: promote inclusive growth, employment and decent work for all where he highlighted the unemployment rate at global and India context.

He said that sustained and inclusive economic growth rate could drive progress, create decent jobs for all and improve living.

Sentiwati also pointed out how every individual need to be sustained which he said could drive progress, create decent jobs for all and improve the living.

He encouraged the participants to not only depend on government jobs but to seek more opportunities in private sectors and encourage the youth to start their own enterprise.

Altogether, 30 youth representatives from Hazadisa, Manglamukh and Ganeshnagar under Dhansiripar Sub-division, Dimapur participated in the workshop.
