Workshop on plastic waste management

A one day workshop on “Plastic Waste Management and segregation of Waste at Source” was organised for Dhansiripar block villages on April 18 at Selouphe Village Council Hall.
The workshop was organised by PHED (R) division Dimapur and sponsored by Sanitation amd WSSO PHED Kohima.
At, the programme, Executive Engineer, PHED (Rural) division, Dimapur Er. Nirie-e Nisa, welcomed the gathering and stressed on the importance of the concerted efforts for the successful implementation of plastic waste management for cleaner environment.
District Co-ordinator, DWSM PHED (R) Dimapur Imojungla Longkumer, delivered a power point presentation on the topic Plastic Waste Management (PWM) under SBM(G)-II.
Resource team from Kuda Village Waste Processing Facility led by the founding member, Kelhousesi, shared their experiences and demonstrated through audio visuals the operation of their rotary waste segregator and baling machine at their facility, glass and thermocol crusher along with the upcycling/downcycling of plastic wastes.
The programme chaired by JE PHE-Dhansiripar Er. Moajungla, began with an invocation by chairman Mission Board, CBVC Selouphe Nusazo Lohe and vote of thanks by, SDO-PHE, Dhansiripar Er. Nagaho Sema.
Village leaders, WATSAN members and women members from various villages under Dhansiripar block attended the programme.
