Workshop on SHG livelihood, market linkages held

DIMAPUR: A two day workshop on SHG Livelihood Scale Up and Market Linkages was organised by the Nagaland Forest Management Project (NFMP), funded by JICA under the department of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, on May 12 and 13 at SEFTI, Dimapur.
The workshop aimed to chart a strategic roadmap to transition SHG activities from primary to scalable, cluster based secondary enterprises, ensuring sustainability through institutional frameworks and market linkages.
Delivering the opening remarks, Addl. PCCF and chief project director, NFMP, M. Senthil Kumar, informed that the project has covered 185 villages and 440 SHGs across 11 districts, channeling over Rs. 2 crore through Revolving Fund support, generating more than Rs. 6 crore in earnings and Rs. 2.4 crore in profits.
He stressed the need to scale up livelihood activities through cluster formation and a state level federation as the project nears its final phase.
Livelihood expert, PMC, NFMP, Shailendra, presented an analysis of livelihood promotion under the project.
Earlier, CCF and project director (AFP), NFMP, Temjenyabang, delivered the welcome address.
The workshop brought together 70 participants, including representatives from all 11 DMUs, FMUs and FNGOs under NFMP, who engaged in technical sessions, group discussions and experience sharing to strengthen livelihood interventions and market integration strategies.
