A one day workshop on “Sound patterns and Regularisation of the autography in Konyak Language” was held at DUDA guest house, here on October 19.
Associate professors Nagaland University, Dr. Mimi Kevichüsa Ezung and Dr. Pangersenla Walling were the resource persons.
In a release Konyak language officer department of school education N. Nyeiang stated that resource person Pangersenla Walling asserted that compiling a good dictionary and a grammar will help the community to develop the language.
Walling added that these will provide the community with more standardized orthography and sound patterns which in turn will lift the status of the language.
Dr. Mimi Kevichüsa highlighted the different phonological steps involved in the analysis of sound patterns in a language. She presented different phonetic sounds that might be available in the Konyak language.
The workshop was attended by representatives from Kohima based various Konyak organizations and Konyak Literature Board.
