Workshop on violence against women & children

The department of Psychology, Dimapur Government College (DGC), IQAC, and State Resource Centre for Women (SRCW) organized a workshop on Violence against Women and Children at DGC on January 19.

A press release by DGC publicity and media cell stated that resource persons Weri-u Mero, the centre administrator of “Sakhi – One Stop Centre”, spoke on the topic “Sakhi- One Stop Centre, Women Helpline -181, and Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP)”; Bovili K. Chishi, a case worker spoke on “Psychological support for the women affected by violence with the ethical guidelines of counselling” and Zuchumpeni Ngullie, panel lawyer, Dimapur DLSA, spoke on “Trafficking.”

A play on forms of violence was enacted by students. The workshop was chaired by Lhipe Naro, assistant professor of Sociology, and Puli Chishi, assistant professor of Psychology.
