Workshop, training and awareness programmes Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative (CMMFI) scheme was held in Wokha, Chozuba and Kiphire.
Chief Minister’s Micro Finance Initiative scheme which aims to ensure availability of affordable credit for carrying out economic activities was jointly launched by Union Minister, finance and corporate affairs, Nirmala Sitharaman and Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio on August 23.
The scheme aims to enhance farmers’ income by increasing investment in agri and allied sector, improve agri-marketing network and infrastructure, promote credit discipline and boost private enterprise.
The scheme can be availed by farmers, entrepreneurs, Self Help Groups (SHGs), farmer producer organisations/company and cooperative societies.
Wokha
Wokha: One day workshop on various schemes including CMMFI was organised by the Wokha district administration at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Wokha office, Thursday.
According to DIPR report, during the workshop, DC Wokha, Ajit Kumar Ranjan said the workshop aims to help and guide local entrepreneurs to avail government schemes.
Though government has launched many schemes and project to help the public, Ranjan said the public could not avail such opportunities due to lack of awareness.
The DC said applicants and entrepreneurs would be allowed to avail the schemes and urged them to prepare the project reports appropriately as selection would be done based on the feasibility of the reports.
He also appealed to the beneficiaries to judiciously utilize the funds so that their target could be achieved and also urged them to recover the loans on time.
Lead District Manager SBI Wokha Branch also highlighted the gathering about the procedures of filling the applications and assured all possible help.
Skill Development Officer, Wokha Anuranjan Singh also appraised the gathering about the different schemes available and introduced by the government for the welfare of the local entrepreneurs, unemployed youths and the SHGs. He also highlighted, in brief, the funding pattern and subsidy support related to the various schemes and projects.
The meeting was attended by the Wokha District Village Council Association, Wokha District Chamber of Commerce and Industry, LSU, Wokha Town Student’s Union, Doyang Fisherman Union, Hutokito MCSL Wokha Framer Producer Company Limited, ADPM, NSRM and area coordinator NSRLM Wokha.
Kiphire
Kiphire: An awareness- cum-sensitisation camp on CMMFI scheme was organised by Kiphire district administration in collaboration with line departments on December 13 at the Conference Hall of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kiphire office.
According to DIPR report, addressing the local entrepreneurs and Self Help Groups (SHGs), DC Kiphire Wati Aier said that CMMFI scheme was implemented by agri and allied departments. He said that the process to avail the loan was easier as it did not require documents or guarantor. The DC said the heads of offices of concerned departments have been informed to assist the beneficiaries while applying for the forms.
Extra Assistant Commissioner (EAC) Kiphire, Ane Khieya said the scheme was new and therefore more awareness programme would be organized in the future. She also informed the interested individuals, beneficiaries and entrepreneurs to look at the website for CM microfinance, for more information updates on the scheme.
During the programme, PowerPoint presentations were given by officials from fishery, veterinary, industry, agri, NRSLM, and horticulture departments, which was followed by a short interaction.
Chozuba
Chozuba: A training on CMMFI was held on Thursday at Vamuzo Memorial Town Hall, Chozuba, wherein Cholzo Sophie informed the participants that the scheme was to facilitate employment generation and livelihood.
The resource persons were general manager of DIC, agriculture officer, veterinary dispensary, and bank officials. The training was attended by Ward GBs of Chozuba Town, VDB secretaries under the Chozuba Sub- Division along with Business Union
