District-level workshops on Viksit Nagaland @2047 were held in Tuensang and Longleng on April 17, organised by the Department of Planning and Transformation and respective district administrations.
According to DIPR report, at Tuensang, the workshop was held at Town Hall and chaired by Deputy Commissioner Lithrongla Tongpi Rutsa. In her address, Rutsa described Viksit Nagaland @2047 as a roadmap for comprehensive grassroots development and inclusive growth. She said the platform enables stakeholders to identify past shortcomings, challenges and propose improvements for the district.
She emphasized the need to diagnose systemic gaps and set visionary targets for 2030, 2038 and 2047 as short, medium and long-term measures.
Participants were divided into five thematic Sectoral Working Groups (SWGs) covering economic development, social development, environmental sustainability, infrastructure development and governance. Heads of departments, NGOs and civil society members discussed key challenges and strategies under each pillar.
In Longleng, the workshop was held at the DPDB hall and chaired by Deputy Commissioner W. Manpai Phom. Welcoming participants, Phom highlighted that while schemes are designed at national and state levels, effective implementation depends on incorporating local perspectives. He urged members not to treat the exercise as academic but to deliberate on district-specific needs.
Central experts clarified that their role was to facilitate discussions and compile inputs, not to judge local performance. Departments and civil society organisations were encouraged to share issues and suggestions openly. The consultation was structured around five pillars—economic, social, environmental, infrastructure and institutional development.
Presentations were made by district officials including Assistant Horticulture Officer Y. Angngoi Buchem (agriculture and allied), District Sports Officer Angoto Thokhwe (social), AFC Forest Ailong Phom (environmental), DSCO Angnyin Konyak (soil and water conservation), SDO Power Moiching Phom (infrastructure), Er. Lipoksangla Chang (PHED) and SP Longleng Yanger Jamir (institutional).
The programme concluded with group discussions on key thematic issues, fostering collaboration and planning for district upliftment.
