Assisi Centre for Integrated Development (ACID), in collaboration with the National Domestic Workers Movement (NDWM), Nagaland Region, commemorated the World Day for Decent Work on October 7 at Assisi Auditorium, Lake View Colony.
Delivering keynote address on the theme “Decent Work: An Identity,” Advocate Priya Shyam highlighted the relevance of International Labour Organisation (ILO) Conventions in today’s context.
She emphasized that no job is insignificant and called upon participants to uphold their rights and contribute towards building a just and equitable society.
The programme began with a prayer led by Asela Sangtam, president of the All Nagaland Domestic Workers Union. Sr Jobina, Director of ACID, in her welcome address, underscored the importance of the day and the need to uphold the dignity of every worker.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks from Muni Dev and was attended by 145 participants.
