‘World Heart Day’ celebrated at Samaguri, Longleng

In commemoration of “World Heart Day” along with the rest of the world, Dimapur District NCD Clinic, Dimapur District Hospital organized a health camp with the theme “power your life” on September 29 at Samaguri village .
The camp was sponsored by NHM, directorate of Health & Family Welfare Kohima and supported by the village health committee, Samaguri and Samaguri village council.
During the health camp, the beneficiaries were screened for BP, diabetes, and BMI which are the main causes for cardiovascular or heart disease.
The beneficiaries were counseled about healthy lifestyle habits in the camp, while IEC materials and free medicines were also distributed. 
Dr Temsusashi informed the reporter that the camp was organized with the aim to benefit the villagers who did not have ready accessibility to basic health check-up like BP and blood sugar testing. 
The team was led by senior specialist cum nodal officer NCD clinic, DH Dimapur, Dr. Temsusashi along with MO Chumukedima PHC, Dr. L. Chem and staff under Samaguri sub-center and NCD clinic. Good number of beneficiaries turned up to avail the services in the camp.
LONGLENG: In Longleng, District Health Society celebrated the World Heart Day at District Hospital Longleng on September 29, with a short program. It involved block administrative officers, community leaders and all the patients who have been admitted in the hospital. 
Health talk, free screening of blood sugar, and blood pressure were carried out by anaesthesia Dr Wannau Phom, gynaecologist Dr Meren Phom, dental surgeon Dr Pongau Phom and radiologist Dr Waulong Phom. During the program IEC materials were also distributed by the health workers for creating awareness and motivating people. The programme was also attended by DPMU staff.
