World Homoeopathy Day observed; Ayush nursery inaugurated

The National Ayush Mission (NAM) observed World Homoeopathy Day at the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, Kohima, on April 10 under the theme “Homoeopathy for Sustainable Health.”
Director (Health), Dr. Sentimeren Aonok, graced the occasion as special guest while NAM/NHM Retired Mission Director, Dr. Akuo Sorhie, attended as guest of honour. In a press release, the Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, IEC Bureau, informed that Dr. Sorhie highlighted the role and impact of homoeopathy in promoting holistic healthcare in Nagaland. Dr. Aonok meanwhile urged homoeopathy practitioners to contribute towards building a sustainable healthcare system for society.
The programme also commemorated the 271st birth anniversary of Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, founder of homoeopathy, with a ceremonial cake-cutting led by NAM/NHM Mission Director, Dr. Keveduyi Theyo. Deputy Director (Ayush), Dr. T. Bendangtula, chaired the event while NAM State Nodal Officer, Dr. Seyiekhrietuo John, proposed the vote of thanks.
In a related initiative, an Ayush plants nursery was inaugurated at the department premises by DH&FW Principal Director, Mereninla Senlem. The nursery, set up under the State Medicinal Plants Board (SMPB), aims to conserve and propagate indigenous medicinal plants of Nagaland. The inaugural programme was chaired by SMPB Consultant, Dr. Lanusunep, and dedicated in prayer by Rev. Velavoyi Keyho, pastor of Phezoucha Nagamese Baptist Church, Kohima.
