‘World Rabies Day 2021’ observed in Dimapur, Peren

Department of animal husbandry and veterinary services (AH&VS) in collaboration with SPCA, Dimapur organised a programme to mark “World Rabies Day” at government middle school (Ao) Duncan Basti, Dimapur on September 28

In a press release, Veterinary Hospital Dimapur (VHD) VS Dr KN Zubemo Humtsoe informed that during the programme, a total of 283 animals were vaccinated. 

The programme was chaired by SPCA, executive secretary Marian Rao, invocation prayer was said by VHD, VAS Dr. Bocto Sumi, keynote address was delivered by CVO, Dimapur Dr. Kelesekho Tsukru and a talk on “rabies facts not fear” was delivered by VHD Dimapur VS Dr KN Zubemo Humtsoe.

Later, vote of thanks was delivered by Duncan Basti chairman Yangertoshi Ao. 

Peren: In Peren, a programme on “World Rabies Day” was held at veterinary dispensary, Jalukie. 

The programme was chaired by veterinary hospital Peren VS Dr Neisalie Khezie, invocation prayer was proposed by Adibo, keynote address was delivered deputy CVO, Peren Namsui Thou and the vaccination drive was launched by ADC, Jalukie Dr. Tinojongshi Chang. 

Meanwhile, College of veterinary sciences & Animal Husbandry (CVS&AH) conducting anti rabies vaccination camp at Old Jalukie village. 

The program was coordinated by associate professor, department of veterinary public health and epidemiology, Dr. S. Mukherjee. 

During the programme, Old Jalukie village council chairman Heinking and chairman Jalukie Pumbling Nko, Kumui Iring who were also present in the occasion expressed their appreciation and thanked the dean, veterinary college, Dr. A.K. Sangwan, staff and students for spreading awareness to the people. 

The programme concluded with vote of thanks from assistant professor, department of veterinary public health and epidemiology, Dr. Ragubir Singh.
