
Joining the rest of the world, various churches in different parts of Nagaland celebrated the “World Sunday School Day” on October 3 in their respective church premises.
LBCD: Lotha Baptist Church Diphupar celebrated World Sunday School Day in a grand manner on October 3, with women pastor Yanpvulo Kechung as speaker.
According to DIPR report, Yanpvulo emphasised on the need for Sunday school for bringing up the children in the path of God. Reminding that home was the foremost place to start Sunday school for children by parents, she exhorted them to live a life that was acceptable unto God, because children tends to emulate them.
On the occasion the speaker congratulated and lauded the Sunday school teachers for nurturing the children and for bringing them closer to God.
Marking the day, Sunday school children presented special numbers, Bible recitation, choreography, skit etc and enthralled the church congregation. Assistant superintendent Sunday school wing, Rhonbeni Odyuo led the church service while associate pastor, Wopansao Ovung pronounced the benediction. Youth director, Ajano M. Odyuo was the pianist of the day.
ZTSBC: Zunheboto Town Sumi Baptist Church (ZTSBC) SBAK-Aizuto on Sunday devotion organised World Sunday School Day-cum-children’s day programme, which began with praise and worship by NP/Kbto Sunday School.
A press release from ZTSBC media supervisor Bombo K Yeptho stated that, a word of encouragement was delivered by Rev. Dr. Daniel Chishi pastor ZTSBC. He mentioned about how parents should obey God and shape and mould their children for better future and not to mislead or teach them wrong. He also thanked all the parents and Sunday school teachers who play a vital role in educating children to walk in the Holy and Righteous path of the Lord. He pronounced a special prayer for all the children gathered at the event.
Special songs were presented by the Youth Choir, Project Colony Prayer Fellowship and NP/Kbto Prayer Fellowship. Many entertaining items were performed by Sunday school students from different sectors.
Earlier, Anatoli Aye associate women leader ZTSBC invoked God’s presence and led the worship song in the programme chaired by Newtoli Chophy office assistant ZTSBC and Tolika SST New Colony.
Benediction was pronounced by Aketo K Yeptho youth leader ZTSBC. Programme was attended by more than 3700 people.
NBCC: At Nepali Baptist Church Chümoukedima (NBCC) the occasion was celebrated with Robert Aley NBC CMD pastor as speaker.
A press release from NBCC stated that, pastor Robert Aley in his message said children were the gifts of God. Quoting from Bible Robert described children as a gift and a heritage of God and given directly from the hands of God. He reminded the congregation to ponder on their role as parents in the upbringing of their children as desired by God, as responsible parents.
Sunday school students of the church gave various performances, which included skits, choreography, and Bible verse recitation.
KLBC: Kohima Liangmai Baptist Church (KLBC) celebrated the day in their church premises, with KLBC pastor as well as the president of Liangmai Baptist Association (LBA) Nagaland N. Silubo Zeliang.
A press release from KLBC media wing stated that, speakers spoke on the topic of who will be greatest in the Kingdom of heaven. Pastor N. Silubo exhorted the congregation and said that one should be like little children as desired by God for mankind. He also said that children were a gift and heritage of God. He also encouraged the parents to do their role in bringing up their children as desired by God as responsible of parents. N. Silubo Zeliang stated that the propose of celebrating world Sunday school is to walk behind the banner and to promote world Sunday school. While speaking on the main purpose of the Sunday school to inculcate the Christian culture in compliance with divine commands, he also said that through Sunday school the children get knowledge to work with the Holy spirit.
He added that Sunday schools deals with the life, soul and the aspiration of the individuals for a lifetime. Sunday school children of KLBC enthralled the congregation by singing and reading Bible, in the programme presided by Sunday school superintendent Phungbeniu Kaurintta.
SHC Daklane Kohima: Soul Harvest Church (SHC) Daklane Kohima also celebrated the World Sunday School Day with participation of children at its church on Sunday.
