WRCU adopts resolutions against drug and alcohol

DIMAPUR

In a joint meeting held at Wozhuro Community Hall on June 7, the Wozhuro Range Council Union, Village Councils, GBs, Students’ Union, Youth Organizations, and Eloe Ekhung have unanimously adopted resolutions aimed at curbing the sale and transportation of drugs, alcohol, and intoxicants within the region. The council strongly opposed the sale of these substances and outlined penalties for violators: fine of Rs. 3000 for first offense, Rs. 5000 for second offence and reporting to authorities for legal action. Additionally, passenger and goods vehicles found transporting illegal substances will face Rs. 5,000 fine and a ban from operating within Wozhuro Range.
