WSH appeals NZPO on Lamhainamdi case

Western Sümi Hoho (WSH) has urged the Nagaland Zeliang People Organization (NZPO) to “refrain” from issuing any press releases regarding the Lamhainamdi case. Recently, the NZPO had appealed to DGP Nagaland to “expeditiously” begin trial of the main accused involved in the murder of three persons of Lamhainamdi village on March 22, 2021.

WSH through its media cell said the NZPO also knows that WSH was taking “this matter very seriously” and was actively working towards a peaceful resolution.

Therefore, WSH said that since the case was already in the hands of the state law enforcement agency, issuing press releases “at this time may only complicate the situation further or escalate tensions.”

The hoho said it was important to prioritize peaceful coexistence within the Naga community and allow the appropriate authorities to handle the case effectively. Further, WSH requested the NZPO to support its efforts in seeking justice for the Lamhainamdi case and “trust the legal system to deliver a fair verdict.”
