WSKH backs call for CF with Angmai-led NSCN (K)

Western Sumi Kukami Hoho (WSKH) has endorsed the call made by Nagaland GB Federation (NGBF) urging the Government of India and NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu) to formally sign a ceasefire agreement without further delay.

In a press release, WSKH president Vikuto Achumi and general secretary Shiwoto Chishi expressed belief that such a step was vital towards achieving a comprehensive, inclusive, and lasting solution to the long-standing “Indo-Naga” political issue.

Further, WSKH echoed the sentiment expressed by NGBF that the time has come to end decades of bloodshed and to unify all effort towards a singular, peaceful resolution that truly represented the aspirations of the Naga people. WSKH said both shared a conviction that the issue cannot be resolved through fragmented negotiations “but through a unified and mature approach rooted in mutual respect and sincerity.”

WSKH also welcomed the formal and informal discussions that have reportedly begun between the Government of India and NSCN-K (Angmai-Mulatonu). In this regard, the hoho urged both parties to heed the collective call of the Naga people by finalizing the ceasefire agreement at the earliest.

WSKH further expressed belief that “a bilateral ceasefire” was not only crucial to achieving peace within Nagaland but also vital for securing long-term stability across the Northeast region. “The voices of the people must be heard, and we stand united with all those working towards an honourable and lasting peace,” WSKH stated.
