In response to the recent wave of severe flooding in Dimapur caused by continuous heavy rainfall and poor urban drainage, the Western Sümi Students’ Union (WSSU) has distributed relief materials to affected localities.
A press release issued by WSSU stated that the union reached out to two of the worst-hit areas — Vilhume and SM Colony on Tuesday, ensuring vital supplies were handed over to the respective Gaon Buras (GBs) and colony councils. This approach aimed to facilitate fair and need-based distribution among affected households grappling with flood-related hardships.
Expressing solidarity with residents facing the crisis, WSSU also conveyed sincere gratitude to generous donors who contributed to its relief initiative. The union reaffirmed its commitment to supporting vulnerable communities and strengthening collective resilience during times of distress.
