Staff ReporterDimapur, Oct 11 (NPN)

Waromungtsür Telongjem Kohima (WTK) celebrated its Golden Jubilee on October 11 at Molu Ki, Kohima, marking 50 years of community fellowship and growth under the theme “Nükmen tashi itshi” (Strengthening the foundation).
Delivering the theme address, principal of C-Edge College, Dr. Chubatola Aier, emphasised the importance of a strong foundation in any endeavour. She noted that while a well-laid foundation leads to success, a weak one may result in failure. Reflecting on the Jubilee theme, she encouraged the WTK community to assess their journey—acknowledging past shortcomings where necessary and building further on existing strengths to adapt to changing times.
Dr. Aier described WTK’s foundation as “a river that never dries up,” symbolising perseverance and grace, and urged members to continue drawing strength from their roots while looking ahead to the future.
She also encouraged the gathering to seek guidance from the teachings of Jesus Christ and remain steadfast in their values. The celebration featured a range of highlights including a felicitation of dignitaries by Nungshitula Aier, musical performances by Samaro and the Jubilee Choir, and the release of the Jubilee Souvenir Book by the Editorial Committee. A Jubilee poem was presented by Asola Aier and Benlimonger, and a prayer of blessing by KABA pastor Temjen Sempo. Greetings were conveyed by Kohima Waromung Senso Telongjem president I. Chubatoshi and Watsü Telen Kohima president T. Bendangsenla.
The Jubilee Resolution, outlining future commitments, was presented by the convenor of the Resolution Committee. Earlier, the programme was chaired by Sentilong Longchar and Toshinungla Aler. Scripture reading and invocation were led by pastor Tsüktimeren Mollier of Waromung Baptist Arogo, while the welcome address was delivered by WTK president Temjenmongla. The vote of thanks was proposed by planning committee convenor, and benediction by Rev. M. Asangba Longkumer.
