Women department of Wokha Village Baptist Church (WVBC) organised a “Special Ministry Day” on August 21 at the church premises, featuring skit and drama presentations under the theme “Women in the Changing Times: A Spiritual Perspective.”
Addressing the gathering, women pastor Mhonyani Kikon Humtsoe highlighted the evolving role of women in society, noting that women are now recognised as integral contributors across all spheres of life.
She underscored the importance of spiritual grounding, stating that women’s influence at home and in the workplace must foster peace, unity, and virtue.
Mhonyani further said that a woman’s instinctual nature plays a vital role in nurturing and shaping a healthy society through teaching, devotion, and care within the family and community.
Encouraging women to remain steadfast in their spiritual journey despite life’s challenges, she called on them to live in faith and serve as the heart of the family, exemplifying Christian purity.
As part of the programme, skit and drama competitions were held, where B Khel and A Khel of Wokha village were adjudged first and second place winners respectively. The panel of judges included Lily Ngullie Kikon, APRO Bhandari; Zuchobeni Z. Erui, Assistant Professor, WTC; and Ethel Yanthan, Assistant Professor, WTC.
Women Pastors, judges, and participants were present during the event, which celebrated the spiritual and societal contributions of women through creative expression.
