WVYO cautions against sale of drugs, alcohol

Taking note on the rampant substances abuse and the associated social evils prevailing in the society, the Wokha Village Youth Organisation (WVYO) warned of strong action against illegal drug peddlers and bootleggers under it jurisdiction.
The organisation also reaffirmed on its earlier resolution to initiate surprise checking within the jurisdiction of Wokha village with immediate effect.
WVYO warned that stern action will be initiated against any transport vehicle owners/shopkeepers/persons caught possessing/selling IMLF, any other drugs which are illegal under NDPS Act.
It also cautioned that any persons caught purchasing IMFL liquor/drugs, found under the influence of drugs or alcohol at any hours will be strongly dealt with as per the resolution of the WVYO.
In this connection, WVYO president, Chibenthung P Kikon and general secretary, Echungthung Murry, appealed to all public/stakeholders to cooperate and report to its office for any kinds of illegal activity within its jurisdiction. WVYO also affirmed to extend its full cooperation and support to any organization/union/NGOs/Government agencies to curb the menace of substance abuse and addiction in the society.
