Cupertino (California), June 9 (IANS): Apple has announced its upcoming software releases featuring the next generation of Apple Intelligence and the introduction of Siri AI, a significantly more intelligent, knowledgeable and capable version of Siri. Unveiled during the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2026, the updates will be available across iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, visionOS 27 and tvOS 27. According to Apple, the new software brings major improvements in design, performance and usability, along with advanced AI-powered features designed to make devices more responsive and intuitive. Craig Federighi, Apple’s Senior Vice President of Software Engineering, said the company is delivering the next generation of Apple Intelligence across its platforms while introducing Siri AI and expanding child safety features. Built on a privacy-focused architecture, Siri AI can answer questions related to on-screen content, search across apps using personal context, access up-to-date information from the web and generate relevant responses. The upgraded Apple Intelligence will also power new capabilities across apps including Photos, Safari, Image Playground, Messages and Mail.
Apple also introduced a range of new parental control and child safety features aimed at creating safer digital experiences for children. Parents setting up child accounts will be able to activate age-appropriate protections, control which apps are accessible and manage future app additions through the Setup Assistant. New communication safety tools will allow parents to approve new contacts and enable automatic interventions when explicit or violent content is shared. Additional updates include a redesigned dynamic app grid on Apple Watch featuring Siri-suggested apps, a new tap gesture for opening widgets in the Smart Stack and a consolidated Find My app that combines Find Devices, Find Items and Find People. Apple said the new features are available for testing through the Apple Developer Programme starting immediately, while a public beta release will be available through the Apple Beta Software Programme next month.
