
Former home minister and MLA of 37th Tiyi A/C, Y. Patton has called upon the gathering to maintain unity by desisting from spreading false propaganda for individual gain.
He said this while addressing a consultative meeting of voters, supporters and well-wishers residing at Dimapur at Lotha Hoho Ki here on Wednesday.
Admitting some of his shortcomings during his stint as home minister, Patton assured to give top priority on the shortcomings in the event he was given another opportunity to serve the people.
He also reiterated that unlike government servants, the MLAs have to face interview every after five years. “Our exam is very different we don’t have to write, but we need the support of the people”, he added.
Meanwhile, at the conclusion of the meeting, two-point resolutions were adopted.
The meeting placed on record its gratefulness and appreciation to the Y. Patton for bringing progress and development.
It also extended gratefulness to the leadership of former chief minister and Lok Sabha MP Neiphiu Rio, NPF president Dr. Shurhozelie Liezietsu and present chief minister T.R. Zeliang for inducting Y. Patton at the council of ministers in their tenure.
It was for this reason, Patton could work for the welfare of the people of 37th Tiyi A/C in particular and the people of Nagaland in general.
